“OO on the Sofa” consists of two reclining human-like sculptures—one face-up and one face-down—each coated with a glossy, skin-toned film that appears moist and sticky. The figures seem caught between lying still and attempting to rise, restrained by an invisible force. This unseen power reflects a psychological state of being observed: when absorbed in television or screens, the body remains present while the mind drifts away.
The title references the English slang couch potato, comparing humans to passive objects of consumption. The symbol “OO” represents anyone in this state—a universal figure of inertia, indulgence, and quiet disconnection.
