Ru Dong 系列｜Wriggling Series

《Ru Dong 系列》以身體為核心意象，探討多重身份與社會結構之間的張力。「Ru Dong」取自中文「蠕動」的發音，象徵持續推移與變化的狀態。藝術家透過雕塑與影像，將身體被拉長、扭曲的形象凝結於時間之中，呈現個體在多重角色與社會規範中不斷變形的過程。這些形象既真實又抽離，反映出身體作為身份轉換與經驗承載的場域。

The Ru Dong Series centers on the body as a metaphor for the tension between multiple identities and social structures. The term “Ru Dong,” taken from the Mandarin pronunciation of 蠕動, signifies a state of continual shift and transformation. Through sculpture and video, Lin Szu-Ying captures elongated and distorted bodies suspended in time, revealing the process of self-shaping within overlapping roles and societal frameworks. These forms, both tangible and abstract, embody the body as a site of transition, adaptation, and layered experience.
